We are 3 months into the 2015-2016 academic year, and there is still much in store for the class of 2017. Already the first two months of school have been a rush of activities, sports, and classes. So, what has been happening behind the scenes of the Junior class?
“In September, we had our first fundraiser of the year,” says class president, Brian Chi. The project was a booth at Celebrate Holliston where they raffled off class jackets and a bean bag toss. “It was a big success and we raised over $400.”
Students interested in supporting the class in future fundraisers can sign up to bake a pie for the class’ Thanksgiving pie sale fundraiser, where students bake apple, pumpkin, or pecan pies which are then resold for full profit to the class of 2017. The officers are hoping it will be a big success as it was last year when they raised over $500.
“Junior year is extremely busy for all of us academically, however at the same time, we have a fun event in April, the Junior Scavenger Hunt,” said Chi on what Juniors had to look forward to this year. Planning hasn’t begun for this event yet.
In speaking of planning in advance, the Junior Officers just booked the venue for Prom 2017.
“It’s two years away, but you have to book [venues] far in advance because they book up quick,” said Chi. He was unable to say where the Prom will be held yet, but they are “really excited about it.”
